Phocus has arranged a lecture, co-sponsored by the History department, to bring Sean Hemmerle to speak about his new book Them. Hemmerle's book is a series of portraits taken in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2002-2003, and was his way of responding to the events of September 11, 2001.
Sean is an incredible photographer, who has created series on a variety of different subjects and styles. He has been published in the NY Times, Time magazine, and has work featured at ICP and the MoMA. This is an amazing oppotunity to hear him speak about his work and ask him questions and Them, as well as his other projects. You can visit his website: https://www.seanhemmerle.com/
