The Palate of Asia: Food Culture from Across the Ocean

In October 2015, the Vassar College Asian Studies Department is hosting the New York Conference of Asian Studies. The theme of the conference is: Global Asia: Social, Cultural, and Political Spaces. To celebrate the James W. Palmer Gallery ‘90 at College Center and Vassar’s photography club, PHOCUS, will host a photography exhibition in collaboration with the conference entitled: The Palate of Asia: Food Culture from Across the Ocean. This exhibition will introduce Asian food cultures to local communities, provide inter-college collaboration and to promote study abroad in Asia.

We would like to invite student photographers who are undergraduates or graduate students at Vassar College SUNY New Paltz, Bard College, Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America, and Dutchess Community College to submit work around this theme. Please know that imagery is not limited to the Asian continent, but open to adaptation of Asian food around the world.

For more information and to submit your photography, please follow this link.
